Allow me to say this right here and now, this piece is not for the "freshest" newbies, nor is it for those who are in the intermediate class. This is for those kinds of players in between the two levels, nearer the newbie kind than that of the intermediate. That done away with, let's go on...to learn Texas Holdem poker is to know all the parts of the game. To learn Texas Holdem poker means to be able to tell which part is more crucial than the others. As such, we can say that the game's showdown is the most important since it would determine who wins and who loses. Naturally, there are many games that would not reach this stage.
If you are indeed a newbie, forget qualifying to the WSOP's last leg, I mean, do not jump the gun. Learn Texas Holdem poker first by memorizing the mechanics, and this includes the nitty-gritty of the showdown. Here, every gambler shows his hand, a set of 5 cards. Even if the community cards can be used by anybody playing at the table, he/she who "plays the board" would only get a cut of the pot, at best.
